The federal government announced they plan to work with the provinces and territories through a new transfer to cost-share a temporary top-up for low-income workers (those who earn less than $2,500 per month on a full-time basis) that the Provinces and Territories have deemed essential.

Ontario:
On April 25, 2020, Premier Doug Ford announced it will temporarily increase remuneration for frontline workers $4 per hour for the next 16 weeks plus a bonus of $250 (capped at $1,000) if they worked 100+ hours per month for the four months.
